Casting aside the idea of the brain with secret compartments I wanted to focus on conveying the idea of memories in the brain.  So I used silicon to make a representation of the brain.  This is supported by a long perspex tube in which small bags of colored water are contained.  In each is an image which contains a symbolic object which has some relation to a strong personal memory.  The bags appear to be suspended in the tube and when the whole piece is displayed it will also be suspended at a height in order for the viewer to walk under it and view from underneath.

Also displayed with the piece are bigger bags which hold objects that are also symbolic of strong memories.  This is to create the illusion that the viewer is seeing the suspended color bags as if they were inside the tube (as the images in the colored bags are photos of these objects).  Hopefully when the piece is displayed the piece will spark the viewers memories and maybe help an understanding of there own encoding. (perhaps the piece might even be aesthetically pleasing!)
