PROJECT

My concept was to create a quilt using pockets to portray containment. To me pockets are the most familiar containers which we happen to wear on our person daily. I used fabrics from clothes which hold sentimental value to me. During the course of the project, I fell ill and was confined to bed for over a month. It was then that I came up with what I feel is the strongest element of the piece. My "Bound Doll" a 3-d piece portraying how helpless and isolated I felt during this time. I also created patchwork notebooks and a trunk to put the quilt into.
