This is a picture of my container which has been inspired
by my research into Newgrange. It is designed so that maximum light
can filter through the clay structure and has been influenced by the corbel
roofing technique which was used on Newgrange. It contains bones
which represent the loss of the people back home, because of this voyage
to Newfoundland. I have designed it so that a torch is fitted to
the base of the container to shine light through, as a symbol of hope and
also bacause light was considered sacred to the celtic people as they were
sun- worshipers.
