My research included taking sketches of many varieties of shells, shell fish, seaweed,
marinal wildlife found in or around beachfronts. All of this detail work helped to give
me a better understanding of my subject matter. I also used materials and objects found
in the sea to create interesting surfaces for my art piece .ie. seaweed, reeds, sand
shells etc. I have many sketch books in which I experimented with these surfaces. Some
of these detail sketches can be seen on this page.
