Poem 2
Part 3
SUNSET
As the final hours of sunlight ebb away,
A chill runs through me as I think
of the opportunities I have missed,
The chances I have lost.
Sitting at the waters edge,
I stare at the ever changing sun;
And realise that it too
is held by the perimeter of  time.
As it travels westwards throughout the day,
I can almost hear the hours passing by,
minute by minute,
second by second.
But without warning, darkness falls;
And it is only now that I realise,
That with each movement of the clocks hands
and the changing position of the sun,
Today has passed me by.
