Waterford Institute of Technology has a thriving postgraduate community participating in both taught and research programmes to Masters and PhD level.  The Postgraduate Support Unit supports the development and delivery of research and taught postgraduate programmes across the Institute and provides a range of support services for postgraduate students.

AIB Centre for Finance and Business Research PhD/Masters Scholarships

The School of Business of Waterford Institute of Technology in conjunction with the recently established AIB Centre for Finance and Business Research are pleased to invite applications for PhD/Masters scholarships to commence in October 2010.

Proposed research themes include:

a)      Small  firm finance

b)      Behavioural finance

c)      Governance, Accountability and Corporate Responsibility

d)      Personal finance

Scholarship value:

The PhD scholarships will cover either a) payment of fees plus a travel/conference bursary and a stipend to cover some research assistant duties up to a maximum of €14,000 per annum in total for a four year period or b) payment of fees plus a travel/conference bursary and a small stipend up to a maximum of €6,000 per annum for a four year period.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must hold either a Masters degree by research or a taught Masters degree (with a first class or upper second class honour) which has a significant Finance /Accounting component. Exceptional candidates holding a primary degree in Finance or Accounting may be considered.
