Mitigating Circumstances

All claims of this nature, known as mitigating circumstances, include such matters as:

  • Certified unexpected illness of the candidate
  • Death or serious illness of a close relative or a close friend
  • Such other matters which may to a significant extent have adversely affected the examination performance

Application must be made within 5 working days following the examination. The mitigating circumstances forms (MitC1b) may be obtained from your school offices and must be completed and returned to your school office. Doctor's certificates or other supporting documents must be attached. Submitted forms will be considered by the Examination Board.
