PhD in Ecology / Plant physiology / Grassland Science or similar
Major Duties:
* Measurement of ecosystem processes from experimental plots.
* Laboratory analysis of samples
* Data analysis
* Writing research articles

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship funded under Science Foundation Ireland's Research Frontiers Programme. The project entitled "Biodiversity and species interaction - theory and application to multifunctional ecosystems" will examine the impact of plant species diversity on the grassland carbon budget. The successful candidate should have experience in experimental measurement of ecosystem services and experience with measurement of the above and below-ground components of the carbon budget is a distinct advantage. Laboratory analysis skills are essential. Familiarity with biodiversity-ecosystem function research and plant species identification skills is desirable. While being an independent researcher, the successful candidate also must be able to communicate and work within an international collaborative project.
