Qualification: Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in Teaching & Learning in Further & Higher Education
Cost: €7500 for Masters. €525 per 5 credit module. €1050 per 10 credit module. Dissertation €2100

The Postgraduate Diploma / Masters in Teaching and Learning in Further and Higher Education are flexible modular part-time programmes suited to professionals working in Further and Higher Education.

Programme Aim:

The course aims to provide you with a coherent educational programme for teaching and student support staff in Irish Further and Higher Education sectors enabling you to develop and improve your teaching expertise. It offers you an opportunity to reflect on your professional practice and gain a theoretical and critical perspective on your teaching and student support practices.

Entry Requirements:

An Honours Degree or equivalent. In exceptional circumstances, however if you do not meet the normal entry requirements, you may be considered for admission subject to meeting pre-determined criteria.

Year 1-Postgraduate Diploma Level (60 credits)

Mandatory

• Pedagogy 1 & 2 (10 credits)
• Curriculum (10 credits)
• Assessment & Evaluation (10 credits)
• Reflective Practice 1 (10 credits)
• Issues & Perspectives in Higher Education  (10 credits)
• Academic & Scholarly Practice (5 credits)

Electives - choose 1 (modules offered subject to viability)

• Reflective Practice 2 (5 credits)
• Blended  Learning (5 credits)
• Research Supervisory Skills (5 credits)
• Adult Learning (5 credits)

Masters Level (90 credits)

• Education Research Methods (5 credits)
• Dissertation (20,000 words) on topic relevant to practice (25 credits)

Please Note: Whilst the programme is structured as a coherent training for education professionals, it  is possible for you to take single modules relevant to your needs.
