Getting Your Harvest
Duration: 8 weeks, Wednesday 11am – 12.30pm
Qualification: WIT Certificate of Completion
Cost: €100
Closing Date of Application: 15 September 2006
This is an eight-week inter-active Life Coaching course for older adults. During the course the joys and pitfalls of life after structured employment will be examined. Skills and talents that have been put to one side will be evaluated, and the means of putting them to good effect explored with a view to participants laying full claim to the harvest of earlier endeavour.
New challenges await the person who is intent on thoroughly enjoying the third stage of their life. Health and well-being issues will be discussed. There is nothing so inevitable as change and accepting it and adapting to it will be a theme. Extending the parameters of beliefs, assumptions and judgements will be investigated.
At the totality of his ninetieth birthday celebration speech, a monk said, 'If I had known how long I was going to live, I would have started staying young much earlier.' This is the thinking which will be enjoyed during the course, and theoretical, practical and artistic approaches to the attainment of a satisfying third age will be pursued. Expect the unexpected.
This course is subsidised by WIT as part of its initiative for promoting learning amongst older adults.
