The 21st century, according to many observers of society appears to be one of enormous fast change for all throughout the world.
To help people benefit from and interpret this change, Waterford Institute of Technology have developed and introduced this general interest course for anyone who wishes to have an introduction in an Educational Establishment to “soft” green issues.
All the session presenters are experts in their areas and present in a relaxed, enjoyable and open format.
This course sets out to explore, in a relaxed format, the following areas which impact on us all everyday:

> Domestic Energy Awareness
> Saving your money while saving your planet
> Your Ecological footprint – your impact on the planet from the life you lead
> Heritage and You,
> Ecology, Biodiversity and You
> Food Facts - Food miles, GMO’s etc
> Heritage and Conservation
> Parasites, Pests and Diseases
> Understanding Globalization and the Developing World
> Waste Watchers – Reduce waste and save money
> Constructing a Sustainable Home
> Facilitation and Advocacy
There are no introductory requirements for this course.
At the end of this course participants may wish to embark on further courses in this area which WIT are currently developing.
