This course is designed for those new to creative writing. No previous experience is necessary. The aim is to encourage students to write poems and stories. The tutor uses published work to provide a model and to provoke discussion on various themes and offers a private reading of work produced by students.

The course is suitable for those who have never written before or who might have done a small amount. It has never failed to get people writing. The course will also deal with the theoretical aspects of literary writing, but the emphasis will be on the notion of writing as a discipline, which can bring clarity, direction and playfulness into our daily lives.
