This course is eligible for 40% FÁS Funding under the competency development programme

Successful participants of this course will receive registered Childminder Certificate, which is awarded by The National Childminding Association of Ireland.

The course covers relationships and responsibilities, communications, understanding play, arts and crafts, understanding children, language acquisition, early childhood diseases, nutrition and health, child behaviour, the psychology of adolescence, the psychology of adolescence, the business of day care provision, legal aspects, health and safety etc.

As the area of Children and Childminding is such a delicate one, it will be necessary for us to request two character references from applicants (from parents whose children you have minded and from a Doctor or Teacher who knows you) and to check the names of participants with the Garda .
