This course has been designed to meet specific needs of those either working in, or interested in, social care issues. It will draw on the student?s experiences and test their perceptions, limitations, strengths and development.

Key Topics include:

> Applied Social Studies in the context of social care issues:
    ~ Critical imagination in self and society
    ~ The exercise of analytical judgement
    ~ Social Problems - approaches, theories and solutions.
> Criminology
> Group Dynamics
> Sexual Abuse
> Victimology
> Family Violence.

Students are required to keep a journal, which is to be submitted at the end of the course this will be graded.
