The City & Guilds photography course offers students the opportunity to study and develop a sound base in photographic technique, aesthetics and critique.

It aims to:

> Allow the student to develop his/her own creative and technical abilities
> Enable the student to discover their own direction.
> Develop the student?s sensitivity towards the medium and its infinite capacities for making visual statements
> To produce a portfolio of work, which may be a fore runner to further qualification or employment.

Students should have access to an SLR 35mm camera.

Modules offered in 2005/2006:

> Principles of Photography
> Introduction to Black & White Photography
> Exploring Colour Photography

Students can complete the three modules required for certification in one year, however the modules may be taken over two years.

There are no entry requirements.
