Disability Support
Waterford Institute of Technology is committed to implementing a policy of equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Focusing on ability, the Institute ensures that people with disabilities are facilitated by providing 'reasonable accommodations' to meet their requirements.
The aims of the Disability Office are:
- To affirm the ability of students with disabilities to pursue their chosen courses of study.
- To support students with disabilities by offering a range of services, e.g. Assistive Technology Resource Centre, Learning Support etc.
- To raise awareness of the rights and needs of persons with disabilities throughout the Institute and the wider community.
A Disability Officer/Coordinator is available to meet students pursuing programmes at the Institute. Students are encouraged to meet the Disability Officer/Coordinator as soon as possible to ensure that all necessary arrangements can be put in place.
