The Third International Conference of the SophiaEuropa Local Societies Initiative research project under the general theme of “Culture, Technology and Religion” will take place on the College Street Campus of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), Waterford, Ireland, from Tuesday to Thursday, 6 to 8 May 2008.
A detailed conference schedule is available on this website, with associated cultural activities, and information about the thousand year old city of Waterford, its environment and the select accommodation (just a short walk through the heart of the city from the conference facility).
The keynote speakers of the conference are sociologist Professor Tom Inglis of University College Dublin; Biomedical Research Scientist Dr Gary McDarby, MD and founder of ICE; and theologian Professor Eamonn Conway of Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick.
This Annual Conference Series 2005 - 2008 continues a series of conferences already held in Limerick, Ireland (2006) and Krakow, Poland (2007) under the auspices of the SophiaEuropa Research Project, funded by the Metanexus Institute (www.metanexus.net).
