Placement Information

As a requirement of all courses within Tourism and Hospitality at WIT, students will complete a placement organised by the college in organisations both in Ireland and abroad. Students are actively involved in the decision making process in order that their choice of work experience is appropriate to their career aspirations and interests. This work experience allows students to gain real experience of working in a hospitality business. Past companies who have been involved in the placements include: Hilton, Westin, Raddsion, Marriott, Mount Juliet Conrad, Park Hotel Kenmare, Jurys-Doyle, Tower Hotel Group but to name a few.

The objective of placement is to provide students with relevant work experience, which will add emphasis to course of study.  Placement takes place during various stages according to the level and duration of the course.  The work experience can vary from working as part of a large team to individual projects or simply working in a suitable environment that complements the course of study to date as well as career aspirations.
