The Department of Construction & Civil Engineering at WIT currently offers the following programmes in the discipline of Civil Engineering:

BEng. in Civil Engineering

BEng [Honours] in Sustainable Civil Engineering

Graduates from the 3-year Level 7 degree in Civil Engineering are prepared to play a key role in the design and construction of civil engineering projects.  Many of them however continue with their studies either in WIT (on the BEng [Hons] Sustainable Civil Enginerring degree) or in other Irish or UK colleges. Civil Engineering is a wide discipline that encompasses a variety of project types such as highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, harbours, waste-water treatment facilities, power stations and commercial/industrial buildings.

Career opportunities:
Civil Engineering technologists find employment with and range of organisations including local authorities, civil engineering contractors and consulting engineers.
