***** EXTRA WEEK TO SECURE WORK PLACEMENT ***** Posted: Wed, December 19, 2007 |
Please note that lectures for the next semester are starting on Monday 21 January 2008 - this is one week later than originally advised and will have the effect of extending our placement cut-off timetable by 1 week. As such the important dates are now:
Decision Date: Monday January 21 is the last day for you to make a decision on what you are going to do during the flexible term. If you do not have a work placement position on that date you need to let us know what other option you are taking. You will need to return to college on Monday January 21 and attend a flexible semester lecture for new venture initiative or college and community. If we do not hear from you by that date we will assume you have opted for college and community. We strongly suggest that you investigate either a work placement or a college and community project in your local area over the Christmas shut-down period.
Last Day for interviews: There will be no interviews conducted after Friday 18th January unless the interview was arranged prior to January 18th. Unless your placement has been confirmed, in writing, by your employer, you will need to attend College & Community lectures from Monday 21 January. [This is just in case you are ultimately not successful in your interview(s).]
We will continue trying to find placement jobs through to January 18 and you will need to keep checking your e-mails and the web-site over the holiday season. There may be jobs posted and interviews arranged during the holiday period. You should let Annette Toms at atoms@wit.ie know if you have secured a work placement position yourself.
