Marketing Opportunity in College & Community
Posted: Tue, December 11, 2007

A marketing opportunity has arisen in the College & Community option of the flexible semester, based mainly in Dungarvan - details below.

It would not be paid employment - it would be part of C+C requiring 15 hrs per week work and the rest at college - but the experience gained could be very significant.  If you are interested, please contact Corinne Power-O'Mahony CPower-OMahony@wit.ie .

Role specification:

Men in Childcare DVD Project

The Men in Childcare Network is a voluntary not for profit organisation working from community development values which operates to support men working in the Early Childhood Care & Education sector in Ireland.  It is currently finalising a film script which is due to be shot in January ‘08 and released in April ‘08.

The filming will take place in counties across the south & east and will feature up to 9 men working in various aspects of the childcare sector.  The subsequent DVD will be targeted at those working in the guidance or training field nationally, that come in contact with men and are in a position to provide educational or career guidance.

Men in Childcare Network is supported by Childcare committees nationally and works closely with all stakeholders in the early years care and education sector.

We are seeking a student placement that could help with the marketing of the DVD.  This would include working to target prospective recipients of the DVD, publicity in relation to the project and the organising of a conference to be held in Cork City in April ‘08 to coincide with the launch.
