For our latest statistics, follow this link.  Note that the 'CV sent' column indicates how many CVs were sent to prospective employers and some CVs have been sent to more than one employer. 

2 jobs were secured in the last week: Hilti offered a marketing position and 1 job was secured directly by a student in Wexford County Council.  In addition we are awaiting formal confirmation from the employers for some other jobs sourced directly by students.  

There were interviews last week for FocusOne and Wexford County Council.  We are waiting to hear from Hilti following the accounting position interviews conducted 22/10. 

Well done to all the students concerned.

CVs were sent last week to St Canice Credit Union, Imagine Broadband, Glavin and Ronan, Patrick Farrell Accountants, VHI and NVD.     There are CVs out with 17 companies at the moment.  Some companies that received CVs have come back to us to tell us they will not be proceeding with work placement this year due to budget constraints and other reasons.  These include Alza (HR position), Derrinstown Stud, Janssen Pharma, Ronan McCarthy Insurances and Michael Walsh Accountants. 

Interviews will be set up for other companies in due course.  We will notify the students called for interview before the event.  Note that the work placement team are available to do a short mock interview if you would like to avail of this before a real interview.

Opportunities: Microsoft has informed us that they have some openings for work placement students at their operation in Sandyford in Dublin.  Let us know at bbsplacement@wit.ie if you want your CV sent to them.

Interview clothes
We remind you to have your interview clothes always available in Waterford so that you are available for interview at short notice.  We try to give as much notice as possible but sometimes this is not possible.
 
Check e-mails, website and mobile phones
Again we remind you to check your e-mail at least twice daily and check the website regularly in case e-mails are not getting through to you.  We are sending e-mails to your WIT e-mail address only.   Check your text messages regularly and respond immediately.   You may miss out on a possible interview should you fail to do so.
