For our latest statistics, follow this link.  Note that the 'CV sent' column indicates how many CVs were sent to prospective employers and some CVs have been sent to more than one employer. 

12 jobs were secured in the last two weeks:  State Street (5 BBS + 1 BAFS), Datapac (4) and 2 jobs were sourced directly by students in KQM Roscrea and E&Y Dublin. 

In addition we are awaiting formal confirmation from the employers for some other jobs sourced directly by students.  We are also waiting for feedback from Hilti from the interviews conducted 22 October.  Well done to all the students who were interviewed.

There are CVs out with 18 companies at the moment. 

Interviews will be set up for other companies in due course.  We will notify the students called for interview before the event.  Note that the work placement team are available to do a short mock interview if you would like to avail of this before a real interview.

Opportunities

VHI, Kilkenny:  VHI has a large customer service centre in Kilkenny with over 200 employees.  They have 18 open positions for students from all streams.  They intend to interview quite soon.  This week we will be sending some CVs to VHI for the students who expressed a direct interest in VHI and/or Kilkenny when they completed their Response Forms or who responded to Annette’s e-mail on this company.  If anyone else is interested please let us know to bbsplacement@wit.ie as soon as possible.    

St Canice’s Credit Union, Kilkenny: An opening for a marketing stream student.  Job includes marketing project work - launch of Electronic Funds Transfer services including promotional drive, mail-shots, direct marketing, updating of database etc. Let us know at bbsplacement@wit.ie if you want your CV sent.    

We have had no interest in the accounting position in SWS in Bandon, Co. Cork.  We will be contacting them later this week to inform them.  This company has taken students from WIT in the last two years and it’s a shame we can’t supply a student this year.

Job Location Preferences:  Note that you can change your location preferences for work placement (as per your Student Response Form) at any time – call into D18 and she will update the database information. 

Interview clothes
We remind you to have your interview clothes always available in Waterford so that you are available for interview at short notice.  We try to give as much notice as possible but sometimes this is not possible.
 
CVs and Response Forms
We still do not have all your CVs - we cannot send you CVs to prospective employers without having your CV and your Response Form.  We have put the names of these students on a list on the door of the Office at D18. Get them in to us at bbsplacement@wit.ie

Check e-mails, website and mobile phones
Again we remind you to check your e-mail at least twice daily and check the website regularly in case e-mails are not getting through to you.  We are sending e-mails to your WIT e-mail address only.   Check your text messages regularly and respond immediately.   You may miss out on a possible interview should you fail to do so.
