In these status reports we will draw attention to jobs received from companies that may interest some of you even though:
1. They may be located in places you did not consider when you did your location preferences.
2. The nature of the job may be different than normal
Here are some jobs that have arisen this week:
Microsoft, Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18 (southside): Positions for accounting or economics students. See information on work placement board.
Friends First, Cherrymount Industrial Park, Loughlinstown Dublin 18. Funds accounting positions, suitable for accounting or economics students.
Irish College, Leuven, outside Brussels, Belgium (as per last week): The role of the Louvain Institute for Ireland in Europe is to facilitate the process of EU awareness in Ireland, the promotion of the Arts/Culture of Ireland within Mainland Europe and as a residence for Irish students, writers and artists. One or two very interesting positions have become available, somewhat different than our normal jobs. These jobs are in administration with very varied tasks including reception-type work from time to time. The person needs good people skills, good communication skills and good keyboard skills. The office language is English.
The position would suit a down-to-earth, sensible, confident person who could think on their feet and work without detailed direct supervision, using their own initiative.
The job would seem suitable to a marketing-type student or one from the management stream. A HR-stream student might also be interested due to the interaction with people. The job is for eight months. The position comes with full board and lodging provided on the campus. In addition, a payment of €125 is made per week to cover miscellaneous expenses. See website for more details of this college: www.louvaininstitute.com
