Biography

Barbara is a management accountant with over twenty year’s management experience in Irish industry. During that period Barbara worked in a broad variety of management roles, and has acquired a diverse skill base and a practical understanding of the realities of management. The companies she has worked with include the Port of Waterford, Waterford Crystal, Telecom Eireann and Heiton Holdings. In addition to her professional career Barbara has practical experience of the tourist industry as she and her husband owned and operated an award winning bed and breakfast business in Waterford city. Barbara is pursuing a Masters by research under the umbrella of the RIKON research group. The focus of her research is rural tourism and innovation.

 

Research Interests

Her research interests are interorganisational and interpersonal relationships, innovation, tourism and rural networks.

 

Research Project

Barbara’s research project is: 'Managing Rural Tourism Innovation Networks for Enhanced Firm Competitiveness.'
