Collaborating on Research
In line with WIT’s objectives, ongoing research activity is conducted in conjunction with a variety of partners, for example, large and small industries, both at a National and European level, government agencies, and public sector research institutes.
There are many funding support mechanisms available to facilitate this collaboration such as:

Innovation Vouchers
The objective of the Innovation Voucher initiative, which is funded by Enterprise Ireland, is to help small and micro enterprises to tackle technical and business solutions with the expertise that are available in WIT. Innovation Partnerships
The Enterprise Ireland funded Innovation Partnership Initiative offers financial support to companies who engage in collaborative research projects with WIT and other Irish Higher Education Institutes. Currently there is ongoing innovation partnerships with companies such as Genzyme, Eirgen, Bausch & Lomb, Munster Express, Honeywell, 02 and Muzu. Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways Programme
The Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways Programme is a funding mechanism which supports collaboration with industry. IRCSET Enterprise Partnership Scheme
The IRCSET Enterprise Partnership Scheme is an innovative initiative where IRCSET links with private enterprise and WIT to co-fund postgraduate scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships. It provides industry with flexible and easy access to an exceptional pool of competitively selected, high calibre researchers and offers financial support to researchers at an early stage of their career development.
