How to apply for a follow-on course - Advanced Entry
Waterford Institute of Technology offers a range of courses to those who already hold third-level educational qualifications.
The courses in this category are:
- Follow-on Level 7 courses designed for those who have completed a relevant Level 6 course.
- Follow-on Level 8 courses are open to holders of level 7 qualifications.
- Direct entry into the second or subsequent year of any course offered by WIT (including course for school-leavers). Admission in this way is subject to the availability of places.
The minimum entry requirement to qualify for a place on a follow-on course is to gain a pass in the qualifying course (or its equivalent). Qualifying courses are identified in the course descriptions.
If there are more qualified applicants than places available on a continuation course, WIT will rank qualified applicants and will award places which will be offered to applicants in order of their rankings.
NOTE: If you are applying for entry to the first year of a school-leavers' course then you must apply to the CAO in the normal way whether you have previous third-level experience or not.
